Motifs/ Designs

These are some of the designs and motifs that I found really cool and suitable for certain shapes. For example the eye symbol for the pyramid since the eye is often correlated with the Egyptian god Horas and the eye is also represented on the pyramid for the dollar bills in the United States.

Slapdashing

This isn't an artist but it's a blog consists of many different types of art. Slapdashing is an art & design inspiration blog. Everything was quickly scanned,pulled, or sent to the internal inspiration system as reference for one reason or another. since my concentration is about form and shape, I thought this blog would be a really good reference and inspiration for my pieces. Especially for this one, which I think could help me find texture on my forms. Rather than only varying the motifs and shapes, I could add texture onto the shapes.

this post is so cool! It has like simple shape that are distorted or just visually interesting and they put a bit of light under or within each shape and it just comes off REALLY COOL! The shapes are of very geometric and rigid but they form really interesting shapes and the way they're executed, as well as photographed, is just really beautiful. The value of each piece is variegated and not just one simple color. The shapes vary as well and aren't just in simple square, pyramids, or spheres. For my concentration I kind of want to try something like this too. since my concentration involves a lot of forms, space, and shape, I was thinking may be I could try something like this. However, I'm not sure about the motifs and designs that I've been planning for my previous concentrations.

Concentration

My concentration was originally on organic and geometric motifs based on the different styles of art on a set geometric shape of a cube. The idea was to try and form different designs onto the cube in order to create space, illusions, and other elements. However, the idea was pushed to transform into focusing on space. Space created through lines, shapes, and form.
